NewsFlash! Supreme Court Agrees to Review DACA, DAPA Injunction

This morning, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to hear an appeal regarding an injunction that is preventing the implementation of President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA) program and the expansion of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. As previously discussed, in November 2015, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit deemed that the injunction is appropriate while the case challenging the legality of the program is litigated at the district court level. The Supreme Court is expected to issue a decision sometime around June 2016 as to whether or not the injunction should remain in place.
