NewsFlash! DOS Issues Revised EB2 Cutoff Date Prediction

The U.S. Department of State (DOS) Visa Office has issued updated predictions of employment-based (EB) cutoff dates expected in the October 2012 Visa Bulletin. The DOS anticipates that the cutoff date for EB2 India will likely be a 2006 date. This is a revision of earlier, more optimistic, predictions of a cutoff date in August or September 2007. Further, the DOS predicts that the cutoff date will remain at a 2006 date for some time beyond the October 2012 Visa Bulletin.

The DOS previously advised that the October Visa Bulletin could be expected on or about September 10, 2012, as stated in our August 31, 2012 NewsBrief, Visa Bulletin Projections – October 2012. Updated information and explanations will be provided once the October 2012 Visa Bulletin is released.
