Several years ago, my mother was issued a 10-year B-2 visa, but she has never used it. She is now planning to visit the U.S. for the first time. Will the fact that she didn’t use the visa for a few years be a problem?

Answer

This should not normally be an issue, as long as one can explain the reason for the visit (when arriving at U.S. Customs) and provide proof of sufficient funds for the trip, if questioned. (22.May.2017)
