NewsFlash! Duplicate Biometrics Notices Issued in Error

Earlier today, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) advised the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) that, in recent weeks, certain applicants for permanent residency who have already successfully completed biometrics were inadvertently scheduled for a second biometrics appointment. Through AILA, the USCIS stated that if the applicant “…already attended an [Application Support Center (ASC)] appointment and had biometrics captured, it should not be necessary to attend the second appointment.” However, AILA cautions that, in determining how to proceed, applicants should consult with their respective attorneys to “…consider the individual facts and circumstances of each case…”
