NewsFlash! DOS Revises October Visa Bulletin: EB2 India 01.Jul.2009 Filing Cutoff Date

In an unusual and highly disappointing move, the U.S. Department of State (DOS) issued a revised October 2015 Visa Bulletin. The most significant change is that the dates for filing (DF) in the employment-based, second preference (EB2) category for India have been moved backward to July 1, 2009. Other DF dates, including EB2 China, also retrogressed.

The revised visa bulletin issued on September 25, 2015, states that it supersedes the October 2015 Visa Bulletin issued on September 9, 2015. That is, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will only accept cases based upon the revised visa bulletin. Per the DOS, these changes to the visa bulletin were made following consultations with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
