How can I get a copy of my approved I-140? Does it matter if my previous employer withdrew / revoked the I-140?

Answer

If the petitioning employer will not provide you with a copy, you may file a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. If there is no I-485 filed based on that I-140, the USCIS may not provide you with a copy. But, the USCIS usually will at least provide sufficient information and evidence related to the I-140 to allow the person to use the old priority date for a different employment-based green card case and/or an H-4 EAD application (which are the primary reasons the beneficiary typically wants to get a copy of the I-140).
