October 2016 Visa Bulletin: EB2 India Advances to January 2007

This afternoon, the U.S. Department of State (DOS) released the October 2016 Visa Bulletin. There is considerable movement in the final action (FA) chart for the employment-based, second preference (EB2) category. As of October 1, 2016, EB2 will be current for all countries of chargeability, with the exception of India and China. The cutoff date for EB2 India moves ahead by nearly two years, to January 15, 2007. EB2 China also sees major movement, jumping ahead to February 15, 2012.

In the employment-based, third preference (EB3) category, the cutoff date for India only advances by a couple of weeks, to March 1, 2005. EB3 China fares much better, jumping ahead by more than three years, to January 22, 2013.

As expected, the employment-based, first preference (EB1) category returns to being current across the board.
