NewsFlash! Report of Criminals Impersonating Immigration Officers in Houston

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is warning residents in Houston, Texas, of criminals in the area posing as agents of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). The individuals are reportedly knocking on doors in the area and demanding that the residents evacuate, presumably to then rob the unoccupied homes. ICE notes real HSI agents wear badges, and carry credentials that the public can ask to review and verify. Further, immigration enforcement operations are not being conducted in the area while the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts are underway.
