Joel Yanovich, Attorney

Joel is a Member of the Murthy Law Firm. Since joining our legal team in 2011, he has pioneered creative solutions to help foreign national investors, entrepreneurs, multinationals, and other professionals fulfill their American dreams. With experience in a variety of immigration practice areas, Joel’s unique ability to reassure clients and guide them through their immigration journey is unparalleled.

Joel manages our EB5 practice, quarterbacking a team of seasoned professionals as he steers clients through the complex requirements of the immigrant investor program. His extensive EB5 experience includes representation of investor, with respect to both direct investments and filings through regional centers. Known for his accessibility to and empathy toward clients, plus his deep knowledge of the subject matter, Joel provides individualized strategic guidance to ensure the highest level of client service.

Joel also has ample experience representing nonimmigrant investors applying through the E-2 treaty investor (and E-1 treaty trader) program. And, more recently, he has successfully represented numerous clients in applying under the international entrepreneur parole program.

Joel spearheads our L-1 team as well, helping multinational managers, executives, and specialized knowledge personnel transfer to a new or existing U.S. corporate office. Prior to joining the Murthy Law Firm, Joel was awarded a full scholarship to Loyola Law School of Los Angeles, where he earned his Juris Doctor. An article he co-authored for the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review was subsequently made part of the required curriculum for an Access to Justice Seminar at the University of Washington School of Law. He then spent several years at an immigration firm in Los Angeles, focusing on corporate immigration matters.

Representative Experience

  • Assisting foreign nationals to obtain work authorization and permanent residency by way of investing in U.S. entities
  • Obtaining waivers for clients who had been found inadmissible to the United States because of status violations or other prohibited conduct
  • Counseling entrepreneurs and business executives on strategies for personnel to obtain work visas and/or become lawful permanent residents
  • Providing visa assistance to clients who previously were refused visas at U.S. consulates
