NVC Unable to Respond to General Inquiries During COVID-19 Outbreak

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. Department of State (DOS) National Visa Center (NVC) has temporarily reduced its staff. This has hampered the ability of the NVC to respond to queries submitted via the Ask NVC form. Accordingly, the NVC is instructing stakeholders to only use the Ask NVC tool for “urgent humanitarian or medical inquiries, or necessary case updates that are still pending.”

For the time being, the NVC will not respond to general inquiries. Those with pending cases with the NVC can log into the Consular Electronic Application Center to view the current case status and a list of required documents.
