USCIS Releases Details on FY22 H1B Cap and Electronic Registration System

This afternoon, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that the H1B registration period for the fiscal year 2022 (FY22) will run from noon Eastern Time (ET) March 9 through noon ET on March 25, 2021. As discussed in yesterday’s MurthyDotCom NewsFlash, USCIS Will Not Implement Wage-Based H1B Registration System Before Next Year, the USCIS will use the same registration process that was implemented last year.

Background on Registration Process

In order to submit a registration, the employer must use a registrant account within myUSCIS. More details on creating an account are available on the USCIS Website. However, employers and their legal representatives will need to wait until March 9th to create and complete an H1B registration.

Those with selected registrations during the initial registration period will be notified by March 31, 2021. If selected, the petitioning employer will be given a 90-day window to submit a corresponding H1B petition.

Conclusion

MurthyDotCom will continue to closely track updates and changes to the H1B registration system. Subscribe to the MurthyBulletin to receive future updates.
