Am I required to remain employed with the I-140 petitioner for 180 days after it is approved in order to use it to extend my H1B status? Does it matter if I move to a new employer before I reach the 180-day mark?

Answer

The 180-day rule does not require employment with the petitioner. It just requires that the I-140 be approved, and not revoked, for 180 days. (20.Feb.2017)
