U.S. Consulate in Mumbai to Process all Immediate Relative Cases in India

Effective April 1, 2018, interviews for all immediate-relative immigrant visas in India will be conducted at the U.S. Consulate in Mumbai. Anyone with an immediate-relative interview in India, scheduled for April 1, 2018, or later, will be required to go to Mumbai, even if it previously was scheduled in New Delhi.

Immediate relative cases include those filed by U.S. citizens on behalf of their respective parents (IR5), spouses (IR1 or CR1), or children who are unmarried and under the age of 21 (IR2 or CR2). Previously, such cases were processed by both the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi and the U.S. Consulate in Mumbai. This change only applies to cases filed for consular processing, not those filed for adjustment of status (form I-485).

Conclusion

Those in India with interview appointments for immediate relative cases scheduled for April 1st or later may contact support-india@ustraveldocs.com with any questions about appointment dates and times.
