Once the travel ban in India is lifted, will the consulate open more appointments for H1B visa stampings?

Answer

By removing the COVID-related travel ban for foreign nationals who are fully vaccinated, there no longer will be a need to apply for a national interest exception (NIE). However, there has been no indication that this will result in the consulates having more nonimmigrant visa appointments available. (13.Oct.2021)
