August 2022 Visa Bulletin

Today, the U.S. Department of State (DOS) released the August 2022 Visa Bulletin. All cutoff dates listed refer to the dates in the final action chart (i.e., Chart A), unless otherwise specified.

Visa Bulletin Summary

Employment-Based, First Preference (EB1) Category

The EB1 category remains current for all countries of chargeability.

Employment-Based, Second Preference (EB2) Category

There is no movement in the EB2 category. EB2 India’s cutoff date remains set at December 1, 2014, while EB2 China keeps its April 1, 2019 cutoff date.

Employment-Based, Third Preference (EB3) Category

For the first time in months, the cutoff dates for EB3 India and EB3 China advance. EB3 India creeps ahead to February 15, 2012, while EB3 China moves up to April 22, 2018. The EB3 category remains current for all other countries of chargeability.

EB3 Other Workers

The cutoff date for EB3 other workers for India is the same as its EB3 cutoff date. For China, the cutoff date for EB3 other workers remains unchanged at June 1, 2012. For all other countries of chargeability, the cutoff date for EB3 other workers remains set at May 8, 2019.

Employment-Based, Fourth Preference (EB4) Category

The EB4 cutoff dates remain unchanged from the July 2022 Visa Bulletin.

Employment-Based, Fifth Preference (EB5) Category

EB5 remains current for all other countries of chargeability, with the exception of China. China’s cutoff date for EB5 unreserved (i.e., EB5 immigrant visa numbers not set aside for rural, high unemployment, and infrastructure projects,) is November 22, 2015. EB5 set aside for China is current.
