Can I travel to Puerto Rico with an approved H1B petition, but no H1B visa stamp?

Answer

Puerto Rico is part of the United States, so it is not necessary to have a visa “stamp” to return to the mainland from Puerto Rico. It is possible that you may encounter a security check to ensure that you are authorized to be in the U.S., but such checks typically would be related to one’s I-94 or other evidence of being in the country lawfully.
