Is it true we can now apply for visa stamps without leaving the United States?

Answer

You cannot apply for a visa “stamp” from within the U.S. just yet, but the U.S. Department of State (DOS) is developing a pilot program to allow certain visa applicants to do this. This stateside visa renewal program is expected to commence later this year and will initially be limited to H and L visa applicants. If all goes well, the expectation is that the program may be expanded to include additional classes of visas. (15.Feb.2023)
