September 2022 Visa Bulletin

The U.S. Department of State (DOS) has released the September 2022 Visa Bulletin. This is the final visa bulletin for fiscal year 2022, and there is almost no movement in cutoff dates from the previous month. All cutoff dates listed refer to the dates in the final action chart (i.e., Chart A), unless otherwise specified.

Visa Bulletin Summary

Employment-Based, First Preference (EB1) Category

The EB1 category remains current for all countries of chargeability.

Employment-Based, Second Preference (EB2) Category

For the third month in a row, there is no movement in the EB2 category. EB2 India continues with a December 1, 2014, cutoff date, while the cutoff date for EB2 China remains set at April 1, 2019. The EB2 category remains current for all other countries of chargeability.

Employment-Based, Third Preference (EB3) Category

There is no change from last month in the EB3 category. EB3 India’s cutoff date remains set at February 15, 2012, while EB3 China keeps its April 22, 2018, cutoff date. The EB3 category remains current for all other countries of chargeability.

EB3 Other Workers

The cutoff date for EB3 other workers for India is the same as its EB3 cutoff date. For China, the cutoff date for EB3 other workers remains unchanged at June 1, 2012. For all other countries of chargeability, the cutoff date for EB3 other workers remains at May 8, 2019.

Employment-Based, Fourth Preference (EB4) Category

There is no movement in the EB4 cutoff dates. The EB4 cutoff date for El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras continues to be November 8, 2017, while EB4 Mexico keeps its April 1, 2020 cutoff date. The EB4 category remains current for all other countries of chargeability.

Employment-Based, Fifth Preference (EB5) Category

EB5 remains current for all other countries of chargeability, with the exception of China. China’s cutoff date for EB5 unreserved (i.e., EB5 immigrant visa numbers not set aside for rural, high unemployment, and infrastructure projects), advances to December 22, 2015. EB5 set aside for China is current.
