Are there any updates on the domestic visa renewal program?

Answer

The pilot program that resumed domestic visa renewals ended in early 2024. At the time, the U.S. Department of State indicated that they expected to bring it back, and even expand eligibility to more nonimmigrant visa applicants.

In May 2025, several members of Congress sent a public letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, requesting that the program be brought back. There has been no public response to this letter from the Administration, however. Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that this program will be reactivated in the foreseeable future. (10.Dec.2025)
