My employer is going thru an audit. What does that mean? Will it harm me?

Answer

It depends what type of audit it is. This may be a PERM audit, which is a fairly normal part of a labor certification filing. On the other hand, it could mean that the DOL or DHS are examining an employer’s I-9 records, or H1B compliance files. This can result in problems for the employer if the records are incomplete, such as fines, or other penalties. (05.Jun.2017)
