There is a widespread misconception that President Biden has proposed providing green cards to undocumented immigrants at the expense of those working legally in the United States. In reality, President Biden has proposed a single bill that would both provide a path for undocumented immigrants to obtain lawful status, and significantly expedite the green card process for foreign nationals in the heavily backlogged immigrant visa categories. This would be a particular help for Indian-born applicants, who are suffering the most in the employment-based categories. (21.Jan.2021)
